Abbots Langley Man Charged with Assault, Possession of Fake Handgun, Knife and Robbery

28-year-old Cameron Lewis, has been charged with with a string of offences of robbery, two counts of common assault, criminal damage and possession of a knife and imitation firearm in Abbots Langley.

The charges relate to an incident carried out by Cameron Lewis, that occurred on Saturday, August 19, in Abbots Langley.

Police said that a man in his 20s was walking home from the SPAR supermarket in School Mead when he was approached by a man armed with a knife. The victim was robbed of his mobile phone and cash, and his trousers were slashed with a sharp implement.

The victim fled to Long Elms, where a woman he knew in her 40s came to his aid. The altercation continued, and the victim was assaulted again, leaving him with bruising. The woman was also assaulted, leaving her with cuts and bruising to her face.

Police officers searched an address in Hazelwood Lane on Friday, August 25, and recovered an imitation firearm.

Lewis appeared at Hatfield Remand Court on Tuesday, August 29, where he was remanded in custody. He is next due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday, September 26.
