ALDI to celebrate opening a brand new store in Watford

Aldi, Britain’s fifth largest supermarket, is set to celebrate the opening of a brand new store in Watford.

Standing at 1,254 sqm of retail space, the Watford store will be the first Aldi in the area and will be run by Store Manager, Krystal Kilgannon.

Exclusive offers will run throughout opening day and the first 30 customers through the door will receive a complimentary bag of fresh fruit and vegetables from Aldi’s fantastic Super 6 range.

The new store, which is part of Aldi’s investment in local communities across the UK, will bring a number of job opportunities to the area and offer more customers access to Aldi’s high quality, low-price products. The retailer aims to have 1,200 stores by 2025 and is committed to further improving its existing stores for customers across the country.

To celebrate the store opening, Krystal Kilgannon and her team will be joined by Olympic Gold Medallist, Constantine Louloudis, to cut the all-important ribbon on opening morning.

Aldi Watford, will offer large chillers and freezers dedicated to fresh, British meat products, a ‘Food to Go’ section at the front of the store, a fixture along the back wall showcasing Aldi’s award-winning Beers, Wines and Spirits, and an exclusive section full of Health & Beauty products.

Customers can expect to find Aldi’s exclusive Specially Selected range, weekly fresh meat offers and famous Super 6 fruit and vegetables at the new store. Aldi’s legendary Specialbuys will also be available every Thursday and Sunday, offering extraordinary value on a wide range of products, from electrical items to garden tools.

Aldi Store Manager, Krystal Kilgannon, said: “We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store on Dalton Way. It’s set to be a special day as we’ll be celebrating the opening of Aldi’s first store in Watford and having Olympic hero, Constantine Louloudis, join us will make it a morning to remember.”

Additionally, the new Aldi store is calling on local charities and food banks in Watford to register with Neighbourly, a community engagement platform that links businesses to charitable organisations in their community, to receive regular donations of surplus food from the supermarket.

Local charities that register will be able to collect surplus food and perishable products, such as fruit, vegetables and baked goods, up to five days a week.
