Britains Emma Raducanu wins US Tennis Open final in New York

Emma Raducanu beat Layleh Fernandez 6-4, 6-3 to make history and become the first qualifier to win a grand slam.

Emma said she is ‘Loving Life’ and its time to rest and recover.  She has been doing her GCSE’s whilst training and competing. 

The teenager will get prize money of £1.8 million – more than eight times her current career earnings – as well as 2,000 ranking points, which will move her up from her current standing of 150 to 23.

Emma Raducanu (18), Born in Toronto and moved to Bromley, south of London, at the age of two. With a father from Romania and a mother from China steamed her way to win the finals of the USA Open Tennis like wonder woman.
