
Watford Palace Theatre shared the video of a ground-breaking production of Shakespeare’s classic, The Merchant of Venice, directed by Artistic Director and Chief Executive, Brigid Larmour, and starring Tracy-Ann Oberman as Shylock.
Tracy-Ann Oberman is widely known for roles including Chrissie Watts in the BBC soap opera EastEnders (2004–2005), and more recently as Valerie Lewis or “Auntie Val” in the Channel 4 sitcom Friday Night Dinner (2011–2020).
Originally scheduled for a 2020 run, The Merchant of Venice 1936 has successfully overcome the pandemic! And is to premiere in February 2023, in partnership between Watford Palace Theatre and Trafalgar Entertainment, and supported by the Royal Shakespeare Company.
