Essex & Herts Air Ambulance replacement ‘green and yellow’ helicopter to take to the skies in June and July
For those that are used to seeing the red and yellow branded Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT) helicopters flying overhead, they may need to look twice throughout June and July.
The charity’s AW169 helicopter that flies out from North Weald airbase is away for a couple of months, so it can undergo its annual service and maintenance. And, for the time it is out of action, it will be replaced by a distinctive bright green stand-in that has been supplied to the charity as part of its contract agreement with Specialist Aviation Services.
Cliff Gale is Operations Director at EHAAT and said: “The only thing that is different is the helicopter’s colour. The replacement is exactly the same model, it will fly with the same crew (pilot, co-pilot, pre-hospital care doctor and critical care paramedic) and it will carry the same equipment the critical care teams need to enable them to deliver first class pre-hospital emergency medical services to the people of Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas.”
The replacement helicopter will start its flying mission for EHAAT on 1st June so remember to give the team a wave if you see them overhead!
