Family of 5 Died in ‘significant’ House Fire in Hounslow West London

Police have confirmed the sad news that three children were among five dead in the fire that ripped through a mid-terraced home in Channel Close, Hounslow, west London, on Sunday night.

London Fire Brigade deployed Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters were called to a house fire on Channel Close in Hounslow.

Police were called at about 1030pm on Sunday, 13 November to reports of a house on fire in Channel Close, Hounslow, TW5. Officers attended alongside the London Fire Brigade and the London Ambulance Service (LAS).

Detectives and London Fire Brigade are investigating after the bodies of five people were recovered.

The bodies of five people were found inside the property and a sixth person is currently unaccounted for. It is believed that all five are members of the same family.

The adults living at the house have been named locally as Aroen Kishen and his wife, Seema, and their children were named in a school tribute as Riyan, Shanaya and Arohi.

Chief Superintendent Sean Wilson, responsible for policing in Hounslow, said: “My thoughts are with the loved ones of those who very sadly lost their lives in this tragic incident. I don’t underestimate the impact that this will have on the wider community and beyond. I understand that there will be a demand for answers and my officers are working to establish exactly what has happened.”

One man left the house before the arrival of emergency services. He was taken to hospital by LAS. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Nearby properties were evacuated as a precaution.

Ch Supt Sean Wilson, of the Met, was asked at a press conference on Monday if he could rule out fireworks as a possible cause of the fire. No arrests have been made at this time.

London Fire Commissioner Andy Roe has offered his sincere condolences after the tragic death of five people at a house fire in Hounslow.

He said: “This is a terribly sad incident and the thoughts of all of us at London Fire Brigade are with the family, friends and all those affected at this difficult time.

“Staff will be in the local community today to offer support and advice where needed.

“The welfare of our staff is very important and all those involved will be offered support from our counselling and trauma service.”

The ground floor and first floors of a mid-terraced house were destroyed by fire and part of the roof was also damaged by the blaze.

One man left the property before the Brigade arrived and was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus found a further five people on the first floor of the building who were sadly pronounced dead at the scene. One person remains unaccounted for.

The Brigade was called at 2226 and the fire was under control by 0125. Fire crews from Heston, Southall, Twickenham, Hayes, Feltham and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
