Firefighters tackle abandoned Garston building blaze
Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service sent appliances after reports of a derelict building on fire in Garston at 3.34pm Saturday (August 26).
Both Watford pumps and one St Albans dealt with the derelict building fire in the Kytes Drive area of Watford.
The house is situated right next to the A405, Herts Fire Control warned there may be congestion in the area whilst crews make the scene safe.
The crews found an outbuilding next to the house totally ablaze and the flames were spreading to the roof of the main building next to it. The guttering had melted as was fueling the fire below.
Firefighters checked inside the house in case there were any occupants as it was believed to have been used by rough sleepers, there were none.
