Manhunt for ‘Crossbow Killer’ suspect Kyle Clifford for Triple Murder in Bushey

Hertfordshire Police are urgently searching for Kyle Clifford, 26, from Enfield, in connection with a triple homicide that occurred yesterday evening (July 9th) in Bushey.

Three women were found seriously injured at the scene by emergency services, and sadly died soon afterwards.

Update: Suspect Kyle Clifford was found 13 miles away at Lavender Hill Cemetery in Enfield. He had injuries received medical treatment and was stretchered out and taken by ambulance to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel.

Police did not shoot, and is believed to be an ex-boyfriend of the victim Louise.

Officers were called to Ashlyn Close at 7:00 pm on Tuesday and found three related women with critical injuries. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, including two air ambulances, the women tragically died at the scene.

Clifford is believed to be armed with a crossbow and may be in Hertfordshire or north London. Police warn the public not to approach him and to call 999 immediately if spotted.

Officers have confirmed the ages of the victims as Carol Hunt, 61, the wife of the BBC horse racing commentator John Hunt, and two of their daughters Hannah Hunt, 28, and Louise Hunt, 25, all died at the scene.

Schools near Rendlesham Road in Enfield were put into “lockdown” to keep the children safely indoors.

Local councillors for North Bushey expressed deep shock and sadness over the incident.

Labour’s Home Secretary Yvette Cooper posted a statement on X “The loss of three women’s lives in Bushey last night is truly shocking. My thoughts are with the family & friends of those who have been killed & with the community.

I am being kept fully updated. I urge people to support Herts Police with any information about this case.”

Detective Superintendent Rob Hall from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit said: “This is an incredibly difficult incident for the victims’ family and we would ask that their privacy is respected as they come to terms with what has happened.

“Whilst we are still in the early stages of this investigation, we are actively seeking Kyle Clifford who we believe could be in the areas of Hertfordshire or North London.

“Given the serious nature of the incident, I would ask anyone who knows where he is to contact police immediately.

“If you believe you see him, please do not approach him and dial 999 straight away. He may still be in possession of a weapon.”
