In a brazen robbery, thieves targeted the SPAR in Kings Langley, smashing the front door to gain entry and causing significant damage.
At around 4.20am the Spar store was broken into when it had closed for the night.
They then went for the ATM cash machine at the back of the store, removing it using an angle grinder.
The front door has now boarded up.
Detective Constable Karen Jordan, from the Local Crime Unit, said: “Our enquiries are continuing, and I am appealing for anyone with information to please get in touch.
“If you were driving in the area at the time and have a dash cam fitted, please check it as you may have captured some crucial footage to assist our investigation.
“We are also keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a black Range Rover, an Audi A3 or a BMW driving away from the scene and headed towards the M25 at the time.
“Anyone with information is asked to please email me. Thank you.”
