Police hunt Romanian national in London for Stoke-on-Trent murder after mum died in house fire

Staffordshire Police are working with British Transport Police and the National Crime Agency to locate Romanian National Constantin who has been in the UK since 2017.

Police issued a ‘do not approach’ warning over Georgian Constantin, aged 42, who is wanted for suspicion of murdering of Valentina Cozma.

A fire took hold at an address in Campbell Road, Stoke-on-Trent, at around 3pm on Thursday, February 9, in which Valentina Cozma aged 40 tragically died.

Staffordshire Police have said: “This is a domestic murder investigation.

“Inquiries indicate that his last location we have for him is down in London, but also has links to Southampton. It is hoped he has not fled the country.

A post-mortem examination provided a provisional cause of death as inhalation of products of combustion, officers said.

A teenage boy has lost his mother, we need to secure justice for him, Valentina, and her wider family.

Police are asking for witness that may have been in the are prior, specifically between the junctions of Corporation Street and Boothen Old Road.

Detective Superintendent Nicki Addison said: “Officers from across the force are working hard to trace Georgian. Could you help?

“We are urging anyone who can help us to locate him to get in touch as soon as possible.

“We believe Georgian has travelled to London and also has links to Southampton.

“Members of the public should not approach this man, but if you see him, please contact us immediately on 999.”
