West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (WHTH) has a new multi-storey car park at Watford General Hospital which will significantly improve the parking experience for patients, visitors and staff.
On Monday 11 April, Peter Taylor (Mayor of Watford) joined Tim Duggleby, (Associate Director of Acute Redevelopment at WHTH) and Duncan McDonald and Fareen Lalani from the car park constructors, Kier, for the topping out ceremony – marking the completion of the car park’s construction.
The car park is currently open for staff only on a trial basis. It will open to the public by the end of April. It provides around 1,300 spaces and has been completed on time and on budget.
A pedestrian bridge from the multi-storey car park will make it much easier for all car park users to reach the hospital and avoid the need to walk up the steep hill in the existing car park.
