
Nine people were arrested in connection to an aggravated burglary at a suspected cannabis factory.
Footage has emerged of the dramatic moment armed police stopped a vehicle travelling on a motorway from Luton towards Watford at about 8:45am.
Earlier 7.30am on Wednesday 14th a break-in and a fight where several people were seen with offensive weapons in Warren Street, Luton.
Two vehicles were seen leaving the scene.
One of the cars was found and stopped shortly after in Luton. All five occupants got arrested, with two machetes found in the car.
The second car drove off and was seen travelling southbound on the M1 motorway near Watford and stopped by armed police. The four occupants of the vehicle were arrested.
The men arrested were aged between 18 and 23, from Luton, London, Hayes and High Wycombe
A cannabis factory was discovered in Warren Street after police officers carried out enquiries in the area.
Detective Inspector Nick Gardner, from Bedfordshire Police’s Crime Investigation Team, said: “We understand that this incident will cause concern among our local communities.
“We would like to reassure our residents that we are doing all we can to investigate this incident, and carrying out reassurance patrols in the area.
“The illegal drugs trade invariably brings violence, exploitation and other crime types with it. That’s why we’ll continue to crack down on the organised crime gangs involved in things like cannabis factories and stop them causing misery in our communities.”
