Motorbikes ridden dangerously in South Oxhey

Photos have been released of the offending vehicles police are trying to trace.

There has been an increase in reports of several dirt or ‘scrambler’ bikes travelling at excessive speed, in the area surrounding Muirfield Road

Police recently received calls on Thursday 15 April and Tuesday 20 April, when it was reported that the bikes were seen in the area.

The first bike is described as dark blue colour, the second is described as black and white, and the third is described as red and white. The third bike does not display a registration plate.

PCSO Chris Baldwin, from the Oxhey Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT), said: “We have received several reports about motorbikes being ridden in an anti-social manner in the Muirfield Road area by what is believed to be three young males.

“We have carried out area searches in response to these reports but have not yet identified any of the riders. We completely understand residents’ frustration however I want to reassure the community that we are doing all we can to trace the riders, including stepping up our patrols in the affected area and making local officers aware of the bikes’ descriptions.

“We have also since received footage and images of the bikes in question, which we are now sharing with the public in the hope that someone may be able to identify the riders. If you have any information that you believe could be useful to the investigation, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

“We are encouraging residents to keep an eye out for these bikes, and reporting any further sightings to us as soon as possible on 999, as their actions are endangering the lives of others.

“In the meantime, if it is safe to do so, please use your mobile phone to take a photograph of the bikes and their riders, as well as note down any registration numbers, and send it to me via email.”
