Second Man Charged with Murder of Father in 2021

A second man has been charged with murder in relation to the killing of Amjad Hussain in Watford in October 2021.

Police responded to a serious assault at a property on Fuller Road on the evening of Thursday, October 28. Despite the efforts of paramedics, Amjad tragically passed away at the scene. His son, Husnein Amjad of Fuller Road, Watford, was subsequently arrested and charged with murder.

In December 2023, he received a life sentence with a minimum term of 17 years.

Recently, officers acted on further intelligence and arrested a 44-year-old man in connection with the incident. Zaheer Abbas, known to the victim, was charged with murder. Abbas appeared in Hatfield Magistrates’ Court this morning and has been remanded in custody. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 25 at St Albans Crown Court.” ¹²³
