
Police Appeal
A woman has died in a road crash near Hertford following a collision happened at around 10.30am on the A414 in Eastwick, at the junction of Cat Lane.
A white Mercedes collided with a maroon Mazda MX5. The driver of the Mazda, a woman in her 70s from Dorset, died at the scene.
The occupants of the Mercedes, a man and a woman, suffered injuries which are not life-threatening.
The road was closed for several hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash or anyone who may have dash cam footage of the incident to come forward.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101, quoting incident ISR 243 of 1 July.
The crash is being investigated by the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit.
Sergeant Tim Davies, from the unit, said: “Sadly a woman lost her life this morning. We are thoroughly investigating the circumstances of the road traffic collision and are appealing for any drivers who saw what happened or who has dash cam footage to get in touch.”
He added: “We would also like to thank the public for their patience and understanding while the road was closed.”
