Watford Mayor announces FA Cup Final ‘Big Screen’ in Cassiobury Park.

The mayor was joined by Luther Blisset in Cassiobury Park to announce that Watford FC will be hosting a free Big Screen for WatfordFC fans who can’t make it Wembley to watch.

The screening will start at 4pm, for the build up to the FA Cup Final this Saturday 18 May.

Watford fans voted overwhelmingly in favour of having a screen in the town, with over 90% out of the over 3000 people supporting one for the final.

Ex-Watford FC player Luther Blissett said, ‘I remember when we made the final in 1984 under Graham Taylor how amazing it felt to see the whole town come together to support us. I really hope everyone is able to help is able to support the boys, paint Watford yellow and enjoy this great time for the club. Come on you ‘orns!’

Watford FC last celebrated their promotion to the premiership in the park back in May 2015.

To coincide with WatfordFC’s FA Cup Semi-Final success, a foyer exhibition will go on display at Watford Museum, combining unique treasures – like the silver trophy from the Play Off Final, the rosette from the club coach to Wembley in 1984 and Graham Taylor’s own medals.

In a touching tribute, the train named in memory of Graham Taylor was unveiled by his wife, Rita. The idea for this commemorative train came from a senior conductor at London Midlands. As the train journeyed past the clubs that Taylor had managed, it carried with it a sense of honour and remembrance for the football hero. 🚂🌹
