The Metropolitan Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man suspected of committing multiple fraud offences on Facebook Marketplace.

The suspect has been elusive, using false identities, including the aliases “Ben Hudson” and “Joshua Harris,” and has provided a fictitious address in the West Drayton area.

Authorities believe he may be responsible for a total of 13 fraudulent transactions, leaving a trail across London of stolen electronics and frustrated sellers in his wake.

During face-to-face meetings with sellers, the suspect presented a fraudulent driver’s license and provided fake evidence of a bank transfer to claim payment for the items. However, once in possession of the goods, the suspect would leave without actually paying the sellers.

Modus Operandi:

The suspect targets valuable items listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace, like mobile phones, cameras, and gaming equipment.
He arranges to meet sellers in person.
During the meeting, the suspect shows a fake driver’s license and fabricated evidence of a completed bank transfer.
He then takes possession of the items (mobile phones, cameras, gaming equipment) without making any actual payment and flees the scene.
