Care Leaver Marcie Reid Crowned Miss Hertfordshire 2024
Marcie Reid, a 29-year-old who spent her childhood in foster care, was crowned Miss Hertfordshire 2024 on July 21st.
The prestigious event at the Hertfordshire Golf and Country Club, where Marcie emerged victorious among a group of talented and inspiring contestants.
“I am over the moon,” Marcie said talking abut her win is a testament to her resilience and determination to empowering others who have faced similar challenges, her journey to become a powerful advocate for children who have faced hardship and adversity
Marcie is a passionate advocate for those who have experienced adverse childhoods. “Even the darkest of beginnings deserve the brightest of futures,” she said, highlighting her mission to uplift and empower others, like her, who have faced hardship and adversity, offering a beacon of hope and inspiration for many.
Marcie will represent Hertfordshire at the Miss Great Britain Beauty Pageant Finals scheduled to be held in Leicester on the 18th of October 2024. As Miss Hertfordshire, she aims to raise awareness about the issues faced by care leavers and inspire others to achieve their dreams. Highlighting her commitment to making a difference and advocating for positive change on a larger platform.

Miss Great Britain is the longest-running and most prestigious beauty pageant in the UK.
