Breaking News: Homes Evacuated as Large Fire sweeps across gardens

Smoke filled the sky and homes evacuated due to Fire sweeping across gardens.

Seven Fire Engines and other support Vehicles attended the scene. This was then escalated to a 12 pump attendance, the Command Support Unit, the Incident Support Unit and over 60 firefighters.

People were evacuated from some homes Bradshaw Road, off St Albans Road and Balmoral Road in Watford.

Huge Devastation has been caused to many gardens gutted and six homes were affected by fire damage.

Martin was left devastated with the loss of tools and equipment which got destroyed in the fire as the shed burnt down. The tools estimated to cost £10,000 to replace them were needed or his work.

Hertfordshire Police has closed a number of roads after a fire coming from the verge near the railway line has spread to a number of gardens on Bradshaw road.

A tweet by Herts Fire Control read: “We are currently in attendance at a large fire on Bradshaw Road, Watford – please AVOID the area as we have several appliances in attendance with more on the way and will need immediate access to the surrounding area.”

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Police has said: “We were called at 2.35pm to Bradshaw Road, Watford, regarding a fire coming from the verge near the railway line.
“The fire has spread to a few gardens nearby.
“The houses (approx. 4) have been evacuated as a precaution. The fire services have it under control though.”

All the back fences burnt away in the devastation caused by the fire.

Fire swept along back gardens. Sheds and garden furniture destroyed.  Firefighters remain at the scene.

Entry from St Albans Roads remained closed. No one in or out

One couple who are not from the area said “we have been stuck and police will not let us out” The UK has recorded the sunniest spring since records began in 1929, the Met Office has said.
