Mayor and Deputy Mayor to walk Watford’s 17 award winning Green Flag parks fund raiser

Peter Taylor – Mayor of Watford and Deputy Mayor are fundraising for Home-Start Watford & Three Rivers this Saturday! 🎉

The Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor and Deputy Mayor Aga Dychton, will be putting on their walking boots this weekend (8 January 2022) for Home-Start Watford and Three Rivers, the support charity which helps over 120 families per year in Hertfordshire.

Fundraising will go directly to Home-Start Watford & Three Rivers, which provides support to families who have at least one child under the age of five years. Support is provided by volunteers who are normally parents themselves, by visiting families once a week for two to three hours offering support, friendship and practical help in the families’ homes.

Being a parent has never been easy. It can be lonely, frustrating, heart breaking and overwhelming. Life-changing events can happen to anyone. All parents struggle at one time or another.

That is why Home-Start is ready to support families through their toughest times. For more information, visit our website at https://home-startwatford.org.uk/.

We are so grateful for this initiative by Peter and Aga – donate and share to support their walk and our vital work at https://www.w3rt.org/walkintheparkforhome-start. 🤗

Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor said: “These last two years have been incredibly tough times and our charities are doing an amazing job supporting those in need, including Home-Start Watford & Three Rivers. The charity walk by Aga and I, is just one of our fundraisers to help local charities continue with the vital help they are giving residents.”

Cllr Dychton said: “With many charities fundraising events or activities cancelled or affected due to coronavirus, I’m really happy we can take part in the Charity Walk to help raise money for Home-Star. They help ensure young children have the very best start in life by living in happy, secure homes with confident parents.”
