Morrisonsn Supermarket is operating a Number Plate Recognition CCTV van in a policing role, surveilling the public in conjunction with local police.

The CCTV van was seen in a Morrisons store car park in Watford monitoring the area.

On the back it even says ‘Operated by Wm Morrison Plc.

They argue that it is an invasion of privacy and that it is inappropriate for a private company to be taking such an active role in policing.

We have contacted Morrisons for more info.
