Outdoor Cannabis farm discovered in Tring after police receive tip-off

Hertfordshire Constabulary has dismantled an outdoor cannabis farm on abandoned land off Tringford Road in Tring.

Officers found more than weed in pots on the area of rough grounds of grass.

The farm was discovered on Wednesday, July 20, 2023, after police received a tip-off. Specialist officers worked to remove 110 plants of various stages of growth from the site. A police helicopter was also flown overhead to search the area.

The force said inquiries were continuing to find those responsible for the farm.

Cannabis is a Class B drug in the UK, and it is illegal to grow, possess, or supply it without a license. Those caught doing so could face up to 14 years in prison.

More than 110 plants, at various stages of growth, were removed from the site on Monday.

PC Jordan Miles, from the force’s Intervention Team, said: “This operation is just one example of how frontline officers work with specialist teams across the constabulary to tackle criminality.”

He asked for anyone with information to come forward.
