Serious Accident closes A405 between Jct 21A M25 and Jct 6 M1

This morning at around 7am , Herts police reported that a serious road traffic collision had taken place.

Update: 6pm  The A405 Bricket Wood is now fully open in both directions.

11:30am: Herts Collision Investigation team are at the scene.
The crash involves a white Mercedes which has ended up on its roof, and the engine laying in the road.

The engine can be seen seperated from the car on the dual carraiageway.

It is not known the condition of the driver is, or if there wer any passengers in the car at this time. 

Herts Investigation has erected a blue forensic tent has been erected
Police cordons at the junction of Oakwood Road and Old Watford Road. Also affecting access to and from Chequers Ln

one driver posted on facebook, “Just came that way, had to go the back way through bricket wood,,,a nightmare,,,avoid at all costs”

No update has yet been given.


It is advised to take care after stormdennis, heavy and persistent rain will slowly move eastwards across southern areas this afternoon.  There is likely to be fallen debris blown onto the roads, as well as large puddles to avoid.
