Strange spooky cloud spotted over Croxley Green and Bushey
The odd phenomenon was seen at around 5pm on Monday 30th, just as the sun was setting.
The eary site looks like smoke has risen from the chimney tops stretching all the way up into the high atmosphere.
The photo shows what could be seen from Sycamore Road, Croxley Green and was shared on social media.
Funny comments down appeared “has *** been using the witches portal to get around again? 🤔 😂🤣”
With others adding “spectacular”, “what a great photo” “Wow! Amazing!”, “All from one chimney”
One or two others had seen it too, the main picture was taken from Bushey by Sue.
According to the Met Office, a funnel cloud is a cone-shaped cloud which extends from the base of a cloud towards the ground without actually reaching the surface. In the UK they often look like thin dangling bits of rope, hanging from the cloud above.
A funnel cloud would only reach tornado level if it touched ground or water, so luckily there were no tornadoes over Watford that night!
