Watford Funfair evacuated to escape Field Fire

A Funfair at King Georges V playing fields closed early and evacuated the area.

Greens Funfair announced “Due to the fire that started on Saturday behind king George playing fields.

We made the quick decision to take down what equipment we could to remove from the area as fire started moving in the fun fair’s direction but luckily the fire brigade done a great job and got the fire under control 💪🏻 👏

We hope that every one in the area is safe and hope to see you all at our next event at Croxley green bank holiday fair in 2 weeks time

Firefighters extinguishing fire at Tolpits Lane

A Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson said: “Twelve fire appliances attended and prevented the field fire from effecting a static caravan park and also several other commercial buildings.

One of the Twelve appliances dispatched to area.

“Residents from the caravan park were placed in the Tolpits Lane Community centre until it was deemed safe for them to return to their properties.

“There were no injuries.

“[The fire was] accidental due to current weather conditions.”
