Police have named the man who was murdered in Watford yesterday (Saturday 31 August) as 27 year old Luke O’Connell.
A 19 year old man has been charged with the murder of Luke O’Connell.
Hamza Shah of Hagden Lane, Watford will appear before Hatfield Remand Court tomorrow.
A second man was last night (Monday 2 September) charged in relation to the murder of Luke O’Connell.
Aamir Mustafa, aged 22, of St George’s Road, Watford will appear before Hatfield Remand Court today (Tuesday, 3 September) charged with murder.
Luke, who was from Watford, suffered serious injuries following an incident in Gammons Lane, Watford and was pronounced deceased in hospital.
Detectives from the Major Crime unit continued investigation inquiries into the death of 27 year old Luke O’Connell in Watford.
At 3am a three vehicle collision occurred and a fight broke out involving a number of people of which two men suffered serious injuries believed to be from a knife.
The family of Luke O’Connell are appealing to anyone who may have any information about what happened to him to contact police.
His mum said: “As you can imagine we are absolutely devastated at what has happened to Luke. He had his whole life ahead of him and we are heartbroken.
“We would urge anyone who has any information about what happened to Luke to please contact the police in confidence or Crimestoppers anonymously.”
A 19 year old man from Watford has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
