18 new police officers who have joined the force through the Police graduate recruitment scheme

At a ceremony on Friday 15 October, the new recruits were presented with their certificates by Chief Constable Charlie Hall, gave a speech and wished them luck in their new policing career.

The Police Now recruitment scheme aims to transform communities, reduce crime and anti-social behaviour, and increase the public’s confidence in the police service by recruiting and developing bright and ambitious university graduates.

Hertfordshire’s new recruits are now stationed across the county, completing their Intervention training (responding to 999 emergencies). Early next year, they will be fit for independent patrol and will work on the frontline as Safer Neighbourhood officers tackling the issues that matter most to their local communities.

The new recruits are:

• PC 440 Charlotte Walker, who will be based at Broxbourne. She studied Sports Science with International Experience at Bangor University.
• PC 296 Obinna Anoliefo, who will be based at East Herts. He studied Law at the University of Hertfordshire.
• PC 287 Olivia Allardyce, who will be based at East Herts. She studied Criminal Justice with Criminology at the University of Hertfordshire.
• PC 443 Arbaaz Uddin, who will be based at Dacorum. He studied at Forensic Investigations at Coventry University.
• PC 297 Gabby Chidwick, who will be based at Dacorum. She studied Sports and Exercise Science at Loughborough University.
• PC 370 Charlotte Jackson, who will be based at Hertsmere. She studied History at the University of Edinburgh.
• PC 407 Joe Snell, who will be based at North Herts. He studied an Integrated Masters in Chemistry at the University of Nottingham.
• PC 343 Jessica Gonzalez-Green, who will be based at St Albans. She studied Human Geography at Lancaster University.
• PC 342 Toby George, who will be based at St Albans. He studied Policing and Criminal Investigation at Canterbury Christ Church University.
• PC 484 Chi Mubaiwa, who will be based at Stevenage. She studied a Masters in International Law, Ethics and Politics at the University of Birmingham.
• PC 305 Shauna Corrigan, who will be based at Stevenage. She studied Sociology and Social Policy at Leeds University.
• PC 384 Hannah Kenwright, who will be based at Three Rivers. She studied Media, Communication and Advertising at the University of Winchester.
• PC 400 Rebecca Powell, who will be based at Watford. She studied Criminology and Criminal Justice for her undergraduate degree and a Master’s in Cybercrime and Terrorism at Swansea University
• PC 383 Samantha Jenner, who will be based at Watford. She studied Chemical Engineering at Newcastle University.
• PC 434 Yasmin Lermer, who will be based at Watford. She studied Law at the University of Nottingham.
• PC 350 James Holt-Whitall, who will be based at Welwyn Hatfield. He studied Human Geography at Lancaster University.
• PC 281 Lauren McKeever, who will be based at Welwyn Hatfield. She studied Sport Community Leadership at the University of Bedfordshire.

Chief Constable Charlie Hall said: “Our new recruits have already completed extensive training through the Police Now academy where they took part in a mixture of classroom-based and practical activities and assessments. It was a pleasure to welcome them to the force and I was impressed by their enthusiasm and passion to help others. I have no doubt that they will ensure Hertfordshire remains a safe county for everyone.”
