Hemel Hempstead stars in ‘This is Christmas’ on Sky Cinema
Today Friday (9th December) Dacorum can be seen starring in ‘This is Christmas’ on Sky Cinema.
The festive rom-com features Hemel Hempstead Old Town, Apsley and other locations around the borough.
The cast, led by Harry Potter’s Alfred Enoch and The Maze Runner’s Kaya Scodelario, also includes Timothy Spall, Jack Donoghue, Jeremy Irvine and Ben Miller.
In the financial year 2021/22 (to October 15) Dacorum cashed in £99,500 from filming charges. Mostly from Grantchester, After Life, Masters of the Air and BBC Three’s Ladhood.
Filming started in late July admist record-breaking temperatures. Residents could admire a Christmas tree, Christmas lights and even some snowfall.
Hemel Hempstead, St Albans and Watford benefits from its location near to London, as well as Leavesden and Elstree studios.
An uplifting and heartwarming story about finding the magic of Christmas, no matter where you might be, This Is Christmas follows Adam (Alfred Enoch) and Emma (Kaya Scodelario) as they make their daily commute from the picture-perfect village of Langton to London for work.
Every day they share their journey with the same characters, but they all keep themselves to themselves. But then one day, in the build-up to Christmas, Adam breaks the unwritten rule of travel and starts talking to the strangers on the train, inviting the whole carriage to hold their own Christmas party.
