Manhunt after Car Fire Road Rage shut M1 St Albans

The M1 between Watford and St Albans was shut due to a car thief threatening several drivers after his vehicle caught fire on the A405 North Orbital Road.

A manhunt involving the police helicopter and dog unit were unable to find the man.

The male suspect is described as being white, aged in his 20s, of slim build and was wearing a dark coloured hoodie and shorts.

Hertfordshire Police said a Ford Mondeo car was stolen from Telford Road in London Colney at about 5:40 pm, was then abandoned on the A405, after catching fire.
