Queens Elizabeth II Books of condolence open in Watford

Books of condolence have opened in Watford so members of the public can pay their respects.

Books of Condolence will be at the Town Hall, Watford Museum, St Albans civic centre, and Rickmansworth local library.

NEW The Royal book of condolence.

Another online book has been opened by the Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire.

Floral tributes can also be left at the Peace Memorial outside the Town Hall if people would like to show their respects in this way.

Official Statement from Council

Watford Borough Council would like to express profound sadness on the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, and extend sincere condolences to members of the Royal Family.

As a mark of respect to a remarkable monarch who devoted herself to the service of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.

The Union flag is being flown at half-mast outside the Town Hall and the ceremonial mace has been shrouded in black.

“If you met Her Majesty The Queen – Queen Elizabeth II – and would like to share a memory, or would simply like to pay your respects, please leave your message here.”

St Oswald’s Church in Malvern Way, Croxley Green, will be open for prayer and reflection on Friday 9th September from 8.45am till evening.

Town Hall opening times are:

  • Monday: 9am to 1pm
  • Tuesday: 1pm to 5pm
  • Wednesday: 10am to 2pm
  • Thursday: 1pm to 5pm
  • Friday: 9am to 1pm

Museum opening times are:

  • Thursday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm

Residents of Letchworth can lay flowers at Broadway Gardens. A signing a Book of Condolence has been made available at Letchworth Library.
