Teenager arrested in Brent birthday Murder stabbed to death

In an unfortunate incident on Friday night, a teenager was fatally stabbed during a street fight in front of party-goers in north-west London.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, a 17-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed.

The incident took place on Granville Road, Brent, NW6 at around 11:30 pm following a busy birthday party, prompting the police to launch a murder investigation.

After the incident, an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody the following day. Additionally, two other individuals were affected by the altercation.

Another male, believed to be 17 years old, was taken to the hospital, while a woman in her early 20s sustained a hand injury.

On Saturday, forensic officers were present at the scene of the incident in north-west London, and a significant police presence could be observed in the area. Granville Road was completely cordoned off, and investigators were conducting inquiries near a primary school adjacent to an apartment block.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Rogers, said: “We believe that there was a fight following a birthday party, which would have been attended by a number of people.

I would urge anyone who was there, and who has not yet spoken with officers, to please come forward. It is vital that we establish what happened.

“I would also ask that anyone who may have captured any of last night’s events on their phone to also contact officers.”

The teenager’s family has been informed.

Chief Superintendent Dan Knowles said: “I know that the community will be shocked by this incident in which a young man has lost his life.

“We shall be working with our colleagues from Specialist Crime to ensure that this investigation proceeds as quickly and thoroughly as possible.

“Local residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area and I would encourage anyone with information, or concerns, to speak with them.”

Officers remain at the scene and the area is still cordoned off.
