Youths in balaclavas violently attack man in Watford town centre
A tweet post tagged to Mayor Peter Taylor containing a video of Youths wearing balaclavas goading and attacking a man in Watford town centre on 10th July.
Update: Two boys, 13 and 14, have been arrested following an assault that took place in Watford high street.
The man who was not wearing anything on his feet was surrounded and hounded by four young boys who were wearing balaclavas.
They then went in when the man went to pick something up from the ground.
The attack happened in daylight outside the Blue Cross Dental Care on the high street.
They can be seen kicking and punching the man while he is down.
The footage was filmed from a neighbouring property overlooking the high street, they shouted in an attempt to stop the assault.
What lead to the incident are unclear, the man seems not to know them and it can be heard him say “Who the F### are you”
Watford’s mayor Peter Taylor, who was tagged in the video, tweetd back telling the poster to report the incident to police.
In the tweet they said “I know who they are. The police know who the are. Everyone knows who they are.”
In reponse to the video, Mr Taylor said: “Watford is a family-friendly and welcoming town – there is absolutely no place here for violence and anti-social behaviour.
“Residents and visitors in Watford should feel safe and I want everyone to be able to enjoy what our town has to offer. Incidents such as these are rare in our community and I will continue to work closely with the police to make sure that remains the case.
“I would ask anyone who witnesses assaults like these to contact 999 immediately so the police can identify and arrest those involved.”
We had been messaged via our facebook page a similar message
“a video of the kids robbing people and assaulting people in their cars.”
But I can tell you that the kids are from the traveller site by McDonalds on the A41. They have gone from causing aggro to doing this. Generally the travellers in Bushey are fairly respectful, but this crop of wronguns are out of control.
