Bushey hospital dedication to patient safety recognised with award

Spire Bushey Hospital has been awarded the NJR Quality Data Provider certificate for its commitment to patient safety. The award is given to hospitals that meet high standards of data collection and reporting, which helps to improve patient outcomes.

To achieve the award, Spire Bushey Hospital was monitored in a number of categories, including the performance of its hip, knee, ankle, elbow, and shoulder joint replacement operations. The hospital was also assessed on its data collection and reporting processes.

Richard Foulkes, hospital director at Spire Bushey, said: “We are delighted to be awarded as an NJR Quality Data Provider. Improving patient safety is of the utmost importance to us, and we are committed to providing the highest quality care to our patients.”

NJR medical director Tim Wilton said: “Congratulations to colleagues at Spire Bushey Hospital. The Quality Data Provider Award is a reflection of the strong departmental efforts to achieve such status.”

The award is a significant achievement for Spire Bushey Hospital and demonstrates its commitment to providing high-quality care to its patients. The hospital is now one of a select group of hospitals in the UK that have achieved this award.

Spire Bushey Hospital were the first hospital in Europe to perform robotic assisted total knee replacement surgery – without the need for a CT scan!

The procedure was performed by Specialist Orthopaedic Consultant, Mr Richard Carrington (pictured with his theatre team). Well done to all staff involved in this amazing achievement.
