Hertfordshire events cancelled due to the Queen’s death
We are now in a 10-day period of mourning which began at midnight on Thursday and will last until the Queen’s funeral.
During this period, people have an opportunity to mourn, pay tributes and pray for the monarch.
EVENTS CANCELLED following the news about the death.
The Watford Band Sunday, September 11, at Cassiobury Park in Watford. It will no longer happen.
A Walk into the Past: Berkhamsted Place, Successor to the Castle – Friday, September 16, and Saturday, September 17 at Castle Hill/Castle Gateway in Berkhamsted. It will no longer happen.
Amersfort, a fine Arts and Craft house guided tour – Tuesday, September 13, at Amersfort Hall in Berkhamsted. It will no longer happen.
Hertford Castle Heritage Day – Sunday, September 11, at Hertford Castle. It will no longer happen.
Little Cassiobury Art and Craft Exhibition – Saturday, September 10, at Little Cassiobury in Watford. It will no longer take place.
Hatfield Market has been cancelled due to the national period of mourning.
Football Matches Postponed
EFL Championship has postponed matches, including Watford FC club, which has postponed its match against Reading at Vicarage Road on Saturday, September 9.
Also postponed: Cheshunt FC, Hertford Town FC and Stevenage FC to Hemel Hempstead Town FC and St Albans City FC.
STRIKES
RTM union workers have postponed their strikes, which were going to take place Thursday, September 15 and Saturday, September 17.
NOT CANCELLED
Carters Steam Fair event at Croxley Green on the 10th & 11th of September will continue as normal.
Pub In The Park, St Albans Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September.
